Refractive lensectomy, also known as clear lens replacement, is a type of refractive surgery available for our Oshawa , Pickering, and Toronto-area patients. It is a procedure performed by Dr. Nijhawan during which a foldable Intraocular Lens (IOL) is implanted in the eye to help reduce or eliminate farsightedness or nearsightedness. Refractive lensectomy is similar to cataract surgery in that the lens of the eye is removed, and then replaced with the lens implant.
Refractive lensectomy is an option for patients who are not good candidates for Custom LASIK or other refractive surgery. If you live near the communities of Pickering, Oshawa, or Toronto, you have a refractive lensectomy option at Custom Vision and Cosmetic Centre.
